Holly Hunter, an American film and actress, is well-known for her stellar performances in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. She won several awards including an Oscar for the movie Piano. The path to acting began on Broadway by performing in a range of Broadway as well as Off Broadway initiatives. Since her childhood she's been enthusiastic in the field of acting. She was Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in the school's play. Mumps caused her to be deaf and blind in one ear, but she refused to let that hinder her from becoming an actress. Her college studies included drama in Pittsburgh, then relocated between Pittsburgh to New York City to follow her passions. Hunter first appeared on Broadway through a chance encounter together with Beth Henley, a playwright. They collaborated on Broadway Crimes of the Heart. The actress made the move to Los Angeles and tried to land films roles. in Swing Shift, she landed the role of a back-up. Over the past three decades Holly Hunter has been on numerous TV shows and films. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was also awarded an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
