Holly Hunter was an American actress, who gained fame for the films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The movie Piano won her several awards which included an Oscar. At a young age, the accomplished actress began playing on stage for a number of Broadway or Off Broadway productions. Since her childhood, she has been passionate about performing. She portrayed Helen Keller as a fifth-grade pupil in a school performance. Mumps made her lose her hearing in one of her ear canals, but that was not enough to stop the actress from fulfilling her dream. After studying drama in college and moving in New York City with her ambitions in mind. Hunter had her Broadway debut due to an accidental encounter in the company of Beth Henley, a playwright. Together, they wrote for Broadway Crimes of the Heart. As she settled in Los Angeles, she began looking for roles in films. The role she was offered came as an actress who played the main character in Swing Shift. Holly Hunter has been in several films, TV series and movies over the course of a 30-year career. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
